On top of this, our “Myofibre Fabricating Platform” is able to recapitulate the exact structure of traditional meat products, thus replicating texture.

    Job Description:

    In this role, candidates will be responsible for the development of both the “Myofibre Fabricating Platform” and further reduce costs for a textured and affordable cultivated-meat product. Roles and duties will include, but is not limited, to the following:

    • Utilize microfluidic approaches to engineer muscle-fibres and marbled fat

    • Initiate research on vegan natural edible hydrogels with desired mechanical properties

    • Control for process parameters such as flow rates and mechanical stimulation

    • Perform genetic and protein analysis using PCR, Western blot, ELISA, etc.

    • Perform in-vitro toxicity studies using cell-proliferation assays (e.g. MTT, Alamar Blue)

    Essential skills/Job Requirements:

    • Degree in Bioengineering/Biomaterials/Chemistry or other related degrees (B.S./M.S.)

    • Cell-culture experience

    Other skills (preferred):

    • Experience with microfluidics and hydrogels

    • Chemical conjugation

    • Cell culture

    • Design of experiments

    • Other analytical techniques: E.g. qPCR, western blotting, proliferation assays

    • Experience in cell signaling research

    • Media optimization

    • Plant-biology

    Salary:

    • Negotiable

    Ideal Start Date: June-Aug 2024, but flexible to change if needed
